Much as we love buying socks for three dollars a package, mass production adds a certain homogeneity to the average wardrobe. Combat the Gap blues by keeping a few indie/handmade/boutique type accessories lying around. Handbags from Anthony Luciano are a good way to go (if you have lots of cash - these babies come straight from Neiman Marcus). Utterly unique, and crafted from unusual materials like sheared mink, persian lamb's wool, velvet and leather flowers, these bags would turn jeans, boots and a simple white top into something that doesn't scream "Old Navy Sale!"

If, like me, you tend to be too lazy to craft a perfectly put together outfit each and everyday, having a bag like this will make you feel less...unbearably dull.
